Versace / AR New York producer / associate creative director, 2002
Versace magazine was probably one of the only fashion-brand magalogues for sale at the MOMA bookstore. This was part due to the distribution infrastructure I had build when publishing ISSUE, but also to the fact that this one-off publication that I ghost edited as Donatella had content on par with any of the best creative art publications.
Highlights included Marilyn Minter’s first ever (hardly) commercial shoot of Devon Aioki which later lead to several painting, a home decor feature photographed by Jack Pierson rendered in his signature collage style, a fashion spread of P-Diddy photographed ninja style by Ari Marcopoulos in Paris during the couture shows, a couture story on Selma Blair photographed by Steven Meisel, and a feature of artist Daniela Rossel’s “Ricas y Famosas” series of photographs that ironically looked like a spectacular over top Versace campaign.
